Shimaya Ryokan is a hot spring hotel located in Yudanaka Onsen Resort in northen Nagano Pref..
It takes about 3 hours from Tokyo by JR Shinkansen train, and about 2.5 hours from Kanazawa to get to our ryokan.
We are located very close to the worldwide popular Jigokudani Yaen-koen park, famous for its ""snow monkeys"".
Free transportation is available from our ryokan to the park.
Having great access to hot springs where you can feel the essence of Japan, and to Shiga Highlands, one of the biggest snow resorts in the country,

Shimaya Ryokan is a pioneer in our region in accepting guests from overseas.
In order for the oversea guests to fully enjoy their stay,
we have been making efforts to improve our services based on the guest's requests, such as introducing free Wi-Fi in the whole building, starting free transportation service to Jigokudani Yaen-koen park, and installing a washing machine for backpackers.
Visiting the Snow Monkeys
We are located close to the popular Jigokudani Yaen-koen park, famous for its snow monkeys. We offer free transportation to the park.
